I think two of my greatest disappointments could be my own library and my kitchen. To start with they are far more compact than in New Leaf, so I can not do as much. And then there is a lack of items. In New Leaf the patchwork sofa actually fit the snug sense of my library, but in New Horizons that there is Animal Crossing Bells no sofa like this. In New Leaf I’d lots of food-like things to decorate my kitchen – although to be honest they are from the Welcome Amiibo update.
The 3DS assets certainly wouldn’t look nice simply being inserted into New Horizons since they are (even the ones at Pocket Camp would probably require some touching up). I’m not about to say it’s the same as the entire Dexit situation, but I do think sometimes New Horizons might have benefitted from a bit more polish before launch.
Ultimately it isn’t the worst thing really; the game remains fun for me personally and the upgrades are becoming closer and closer to using feature parity with New Leaf. There’s plenty of small things here and there that I actually miss from New Leaf (like for example; Fireworks shows raffle has adorable new fireworks items, but they didn’t bother bringing back the adorable Showa-era Nintendo toy furniture in New Leaf) but as a whole it’s certainly still a good game.
For me, my most desired features are the return of older furniture. As good as the items in New Horizons look, I feel at times as they wanted everything to look like a model house; customizing in New Leaf felt much more personal and real and somewhat less like building a pair for an Ikea catalogue.
I haven’t been able to play frequently at all because I got a new job about two weeks ago, even before that I considerably slowed, mainly because of playing other games. Stay at home scenarios have likely had a big impact on the amount of individuals feeling tired with the game, yeah.
That said reading through this thread highlights just how different some players pursuits in this sport are. I see some who desire”brand new gameplay” (I guess activities and minigames), many others that want convenience improvements, and others who want upgrades/expansions on existing functions such as the buy Animal Crossing Items shop/museum, and others who want new furniture options etc..
